anyone up for a challenge? only newcastle games
Me
I`ve sent you a challenge already.
Anyone else that wants a challenge, just send and i`ll accept.
-
I done this yesterday, and today, when i put my comp on, i found that it had been hijacked by BTOpenzone and BTFon!
I never gave them permission for this, all i did was vote for Bedlington. I`m not even with BT for broadband, i`m with AOL. After this i might be getting my line rental off AOL too.
Not impressed

I don't think blatantly putting down the town and all suggestions to make it even slightly better is a good attitude for a moderator of the website portraying the town.
In my opinion, you "sometimes" fit into that criteria, although to be fair to you, it seems you have turned a corner and started having a "Constructive" laugh there days, with a serious "well meant" side to your humour.
Sure, some can take offence, but you do not seem to be too malicious in intent with your comments. I also feel you have an interest in bettering Bedlington as a whole, whereas Monsta seems to just want to nuke the place.
I find Monstas comments to be degrading to the poster, the town and the website as a whole.
That's my opinion, and it is given because it was asked for.
My personal opinion is at this moment in time, you would do a much better job.
As for a poker night, (getting back to the topic, this being TOTT and not Chat Central) Would anyone on the forum be interested in coming along?
If so, What style would you like to see? and would you be willing to pay a small admission fee? or is free poker your thing?
Does anyone know if small stake poker is allowed in pubs? or is this kind of gambling not covered by the entertainment license?
Personally, i'd like to see a 9 person, texas hold-em style game, with a £5 buy in.
£25 to winner
£10 to second place
£5 to third.
£5 to the pubs charity.
What night would you be able to attend? (or possibly daytime...)
A Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday or Sunday is good for me.
I'll contact the Wharton and see if we can have their back room one night. This would rule out Mondays and Saturdays though, due to bar opening, and Darts Night.
I`m not entirely sure if you should be encouraging gambling on here..maybe a different site would suit it better..Facebook maybe?

Seems we have another radio station based in Bedlington, Ultra Radio...
But it seems that someone from Koast isn`t too happy about it, going off their FB page!

Here's a laugh for you, and a probable insight to the people running NCC. They have been employing a person to help find ways of saving money for NCC. Oooh! That's good I here you say! Well this guy is being paid ONE THOUSAND POUND a DAY and has been employed by NC COONCIL for EIGHT MONTH and is still on the payroll! You still laughing?
I would do the job for £500 a day, and i could save them thousands. Sack HIM!

Quite possibly, and in no way was i suggesting the Ashington site WAS to be used, just mentioning that was about the size of the site required by the home delivery team.
It was mentioned in passing that most Netto stores in the area would be too small to be used for this purpose, and would most probably be turned into ASDA Living stores, with the rest being sold off.
Burger King was mentioned for the Bedlington site and/or the Blyth and Ashington sites.
Again, this is total speculation and hear-say.
On another note, who was the first on this site to mention the Red Lion becoming a Wetherspoons?
Top Club
I think
-
If you had mentioned Burger King, you'd be the 4th person i'd heard that little rumour from in the last 2 weeks!
And one of those people is an ASDA Regional Manager
Considering Asda has to sell 47 Netto`s it could well happen!
-
Photo taken today. Doe`s anyone remember the Red Lion when this sign was up? What year would it have been?

We discussed the internet radio idea a while ago & decided we didn`t want Synergy to begin life as a souless automated, impersonal music station like many others. Music will be an important part of our output. But just as important will be the open, community participation aspect.
Also, done properly, stand alone Internet Radio is not cheap & is also a nightmare to administer. When we do an RSL it becomes much easier: it has a one off fee for the length of the licence.
Happily the Govt. has recently made it clear that FM is not going to be turned off for community broadcasters. The Metro radio`s etc of this world will lose it only when 52% or more of the country has bought a digital set.
Many thanks for the suggestions. Keep `em coming!
I`ve just been reading about a radio station `Koast FM` who own studio premises in Bedlington. Are you aware of this? They`ve just `secured a £10,000 grant from a national funding body to help pay studio and equipment costs, and expects to receive a further £20,000 to £25,000 in the next couple of months` and `West Bedlington Town Council has donated £500`
Is SNRG associated with Koast FM? If not, looks like someone has got in first!

Bernard,
The councillors Cympil mentions are Northumberland County Councillors not Parish ones.
East Bedlington parish council meets in the office next to Keenlysides once a month. Chair now is Alex Wallace.
I know there are people on this site who can fill you in with full contact details etc……….
Well i was on the right track
-
Hello, does anyone know the details for E.Bed or Sleekburn Parish Council.Where do they meet and who are the councillers? Do they publish their minutes or meetinggs, and if yes, where? I cant seem to find any info about them only North Bedlington, CHoppington etc. Do they still operate or havethey been disbanded. The county council person I spoke to,referred me to their website, when I eventually got it to work, it didnt actually give you any infomation, a phone number was unobtainable. Thnks
The councillor for East Bedlington is Valerie Tyler
Councillor for Sleekburn is Jeff Gobin
You should find all the info there, including telephone numbers, email address`s etc.If you look to the left hand side, you`ll see links for viewing meetings and minutes too

Found this, it`s title Willow Bridge, Choppington. I don`t know the date of the photograph though, although it looks like it could be around the year you`re looking for.

Where are we talking about here? I`ve got `slaughter house` `bridge` `the point` etc..but where are we on about? If i had a bit more info i could have a bit dig

Not sure if i`m missing something here, but i can`t find any posts where Monsta mentions having a radio station?
I can find a post where he asked about Vicky`s radio background (which no-one seems to be able to find)
Hopefully, Vicky will appear soon to answer that one.
