  1. Presto opened in Bedlington on Tuesday 7th of November 1972

    Meldrew

heres a clue presto established in 1977!

and is that red cars not a talbot samba?? if so production was 1981 - 1986!

Meldrew was correct, Presto`s opened in the early 70`s..

  2. Going off a photo of the 1980 picnic in Blank`s gallery, it shows that Clevva clothes was no longer there, but Mirage. By the looks of state of the Mirage sign, it had been there for a while, at least a few years to get in that condition i would say.

Another photo dated 1974 show the shop as Clevva Clothes, so we`re looking at maybe 1975 - 1979

  3. I`ve found this photo, i`m not sure, but the red cars on both photo`s look very similar, are they the actual same car? If they are, there`s other cars on this photo that might give the year away.

But i agree, early 80`s is looking likely, so i was about 10 years out with my first guess.

This photo looks like it was taken at the same time..more cars (and shop fronts)

  4. I've just bought a Playstation move, anyone recommend some good games for it?

I`ve just bought a PS3 which had a `move` included, but as it`s a Xmas present i haven`t even opened it, plus i haven`t a clue what it is even! It just seemed like a good deal, so i got it

I think the best way to get an idea of the best games for it, is to check Google for Ps3 move games and check the reviews out.

Not much help from me, but if you find a good game, mention it here because i need to buy a game or two for it :)

  5. Not being local to the area although resident for some years now I have often wondered as to where the actual site was of Netherton Colliery and is there anything left of the township that grew up around it. I've noticed the old preserved direction sign just outside of Nedderton village. When did the pit close down?

I`m not sure when the actual pit closed, somewhere around 1973 i think. The colliery houses were knocked down not long after. There`s only fields where the Colliery houses used to be now..

I don`t know if you`ve checked the Gallery out, but there`s lots of newspaper articles about Netherton there, thanks to Carole :)

There`s also a photo of the colliery rows here :)

  6. Well done Merlin on clearing that up - and it's nice to know your work has been recognised:

`One that captures perfectly the chaos and intensity of the autumn leaves as they surround the majestic lynx`

  7. If a topic is moved to a more appropriate section, why is there no notification stating this is the case?, or have I missed it?

Some moderators leave a link, others don`t. Personally, i would have left a link to where the posts had been moved to, but i didn`t actually move the posts on this occasion, another moderator must have.

  8. What's the hell's wrong with the moderators on here? A thread about a true British manufacturing company is removed. Why exactly? It was historic, informative and factual...

Yet, gutter sniping, accusations bordering on libel remain...

Is this the role of a Global Moderator?

The posts in question haven`t been removed, they`ve been moved to the appropriate section

If you`re not happy with any aspect of any of the moderators, i suggest you contact Admin.

  9. You know as well as I do, Monsta and Ultra Radio are 'connected'. And therefore may I suggest you know Simon Ferson (that self acclaimed radio professional in the NE), so perhaps you can give some illumination as to his credentials.

**NOTE TO MONSTA** You kept that quiet!

  10. Here's a question for you radio enthusiasts;

Ultra Radio is the project of a Simon Ferson.

    What's his radio background?

I haven`t a clue? I know as much about Simon Ferson as i do about Vicky.

Maybe Ultra Radio can fill us in on that.

  11. Oh Please....you are part of his group on facebook!!..

    Three words for you,

    Orange Crate and Anorak

What are you on about? If you`re referring to Ultra radio`s FB page, yes i am a fan, nothing wrong with that is there? I was on about Monsta not Ultra Radio

Not sure what you mean by the three words either? Care to explain?
