Are we looking at the same red car, Monsta, the one in the top picture of the two on the right heading towards the camera? Blow it up - it has a VW badge. The second picture is taken around the same time from a different angle and shows the car partly obscured by the red one - the white one parked on the road - to be a Mini Metro.
Malcolm - in the original picture the silver car on the left is, I think, a Datsun, one of the bigger Bluebird line from the late 70's, and the red car on the right could be a Chrysler Horizon.
AH HA i was talking about this
but then i realised you were on about this...
and yes its a jetta or mk1 golf!
-
that place next to the post office some time after the invention of the photograph!
-
the red car on the road is, I think, a VW Jetta (or base model golf) but the Metro in the picture definitely dates it to post 1980.
its not a jetta as the car in the picture has a metal bumper jettas cam with plastic bumpers
as the picture showsand the white car behind it is an austin allegro!
note the back window shape!

There's a free raffle taking place in Whitley Memorial, St Bedes, West End and Meadowdale schools. The winner of each school raffle will get a prize, the overall winner of the four will be chosen on the night to switch on the lights.

Dear All, you may have noticed that the lighting lanterns in Market Place have been removed and replaced. This is a temporary measure. Some of the new lantern fixings have failed. The onus is on the manufacture to correct. As a matter of health and safety all lanterns have been removed, particularly because of the high winds. At present I cannot say when the lanterns will be reinstated but they will be. The works have no cost to the council with the manufacturer being liable.
Please feel free to share this information with fellow local residents and businesses.
Regards,
Richard

Nope, not back to normal. We seem to be limited to 2Mbps at the moment.
Try http://www.speedtest.net and post your results.
not very accurate though gave me 4.6mbps compared to http://speedchecker.org which gave me an accurate reading of 6.5mbps

Graduates first words at work after leaving uni "Would you like relish with your burger sir? "
Beats the Dole cue!

doubt this will happen as the asda in cowpen is far to close to warrant a big store like the one in ashington! plus the site is to small. the netto may get asda-fied but thats all! i think it will stay as a food store only there will be no george clothing, electricals etc
I've heard they did a postcode survey a while back, and found Bedlington was split 3 ways between Ashington, Blyth and Cramlington, and therefore did not need another store in the middle.exactly just like there'll never be a mcdonalds in bedlington
