  1. @Canny lass Hej! x Hoping you’ve conquered the great jam crusade ❣️. Me’nMax are just back from a Puce Bush Farm expedition, the vegetation is now knee high, down from thigh high in midsummer. I’m determined to find remains of the habitation and expect January ish to be able to send you a downright riveting photo of a stone or maybe 3!! Bestest regards Roseanne 🌈😁x

Oh @Alan Edgar (Eggy1948) couldn’t forget about you and the lovely folks in the group. I’m actually a contributing member so won’t lose touch. Just need to find a less convoluted way to talk to you. The recent changes have just confirmed that I can’t be chewed with this complicated website. As I said, I’ll use another door. I’m not going anywhere, just round the side door 😁🌈xxxxxxxxx

Morning @Alan Edgar (Eggy1948) @Canny lass@HIGH PIT WILMA I’ve just spent 15 minutes trying to work my way through this communication; I’d been emailed that HPW had made a response to something/one but I can’t find it 🤔xx However I also haven’t seen any responses from
@Andy Millneor @John Fox (foxy). I’m probably just gazing at the moon again but I’m also wondering about some of the recent “interlopers” in this group and whether it’s just coincidence that systems are changing and admin are notable by their absence? 😐🤷🏼‍♀️🌈👋🏻x

  3. Hiya @Canny lass! Yes, absolutely, that’s where I came unstuck! I’d seen cleggs, knew what they looked like and many a time in childhood ran screaming from these evil monsters 😱xx The beasties who attacked me bore no resemblance to the cleggs I had encountered. Yellowish brown, gang warfare, didn’t know wtf they were. Guessed at hornets but my hero CuzzieKeith made me investigate further and I’ve isolated the beasties; definitely one of the many manifestations of horsefly. It’s 3 weeks since the attack and I’m still scratching, irritated and hating the little buggers 🤬. 🎶I’ll no more a-roving go🎶- cleggs are the the thugs of the insect community and I’m a victim of the evil beasties of nature 😫xxR

  4. Is there anyone out there who is in touch with Joe Bostock Bedlington grammar school 1968-1973? I’m told he’s not on Facebook- any idea how I can find him please? I was Roseanne Hutton back then; I’d love to meet up with him; he has a friend Vance. All advice gratefully received 😁🌈x

  5. “Horse flies love damp areas and hot weather. During the summermonths, you're likely to find them in pasturelands near creeks, damp woodlands and in long grasses. According to the Northumberland Wildlife Trust, peak horsefly season is between May and September”.  Due to Cousin @Keith Batey’ s diligence I have found out the wee ferocious beasties weren’t hornets after all but a particularly aggressive swarm of horseflies! I didn’t know there’s a whole range of them and was fooled by the yellowish brown colour. Cuzzie Keith insisted I should take a closer look at horseflies on Google and he was absolutely right, all the information fitted. It’s now over 2 weeks since I was bitten twice on my right ankle and I’m still scratching (currently got my feet in a foot spa laced with Epsom salts and lavender oil) A whole new experience for me; I grew up knowing and fearing “clegs ”, but these buggers were a totally different experience and vicious with it! It’ll be Winter when I venture out to the remains of Puce Bush Farm again 🥺!

  8. @Malcolm Robinson! Suddenly I understand, Council business!. Once a chain of conversation gets going I find it very difficult to work backwards to find where it started! Gotcha, 🎶I can see clearly now the (chain) has gone 🎶, Malcolm I think you’re doing a grand job as a councillor but this rats nest of a website is more than I can stand. I’ll stick to Google and Twitter- are you on Twitter Malcolm? R🌈xx

WHAT Local WHAT area Council.??? I hate acronyms because they’re so exclusive.
And yes, I’m also an ‘ apprentice’ another reason to step out of this suddenly mystical society!!! B*****+*s!

That's looking much better! I had a (ONE) hornet sting about 10 years ago and it was pure agony. Several must have been a nightmare.

Hi there @Canny lass, thanks and yes absolutely. I described it to the doctor as feeling “ like I’m wearing a lead boot lined with red hot needles 😱!! Today is day 9, I’m still applying hydrocortisone cream. The Benadryl made no difference after I ran out of Anthisan. New experience for me, never even seen a hornet before. I was shocked by their nastiness, wasn’t wading through undergrowth, didn’t disturb them they jumped out and attacked us like guard dogs. Hmm nature tooth and claw etc but evil stinging monsters?!! I’ll never go there again. I don’t believe an adder would cause so much pain and they generally strike in defence when disturbed. Hornets 🐝 are a different kettle of fish.

Lilbill15,  I had residents on that estate who asked me to see what could be done.  Ive now ( I presume) got residents on another estate who have asked the same.  Common denominators................wonky roundabout and pressure on road systems.     One of the things I have asked for was the 30MPH extended up to the village and I have asked for some speed reduction suggestions on that bit of road too.

There are traffic and highways questions asked and answered with just about every application I have sat on.  Can't say I agree with most of their reports and usually I end up stating the bleeding obvious to most people, as in the above meeting!

  13. @Canny lass ! I’ll probably never bliddy know! John Lynn told me the abattoir staff laughed at him and said “not possible “ can’t let you have any leftover sheep bits “health and safety “ blah blah. I have found I can travel or order online from Caribbean/Eastern European or North African suppliers but currently it’s losing its appeal 🙄xx Do you eat (the whole even) pig’s head or is it just symbolic or maybe just decorative? It doesn’t look as tempting as pics I’ve seen of cooked sheep’s heads though 😋😁🌈xx

  14. Many thanks @Canny lass , as a retired nurse I do carry anthisan and savlon cream in my pack along with mediwipes.  There was more than one sting in that area and I did consult a Dr asap which was Monday morning as it turned out (111- out of hours medical help took 7 hours overnight to respond) and I have just completed a weeks course of cetirizine and paracetamol. This was my first and hoped last encounter with hornets, vicious little buggers !😱🐝🐝!! I’ve attached today’s foot update 🤣😁🌈xx85E94012-94D1-407B-9CC6-873E7A44019D.thumb.jpeg.c50ce039bf0e8a78bec4690c2c152ba0.jpeg

  15. I’m not sure that I want to get the hang of this anymore. It shouldn’t be something like a ratmaze to get information. I can simplify things by just googling and it’ll take me to the subject within the Bedcouk website . I LOVE the conversation especially with the Illuminati such as Canny Lass and Eggy and occasional input from the likes of Alan Dickson but it’s very disheartening to run the gauntlet of the “rules “ and the intricacies of the system that was convoluted and recently appears to have changed for no obvious reason. In future I’ll be using a simpler portal. I’m too old for computer games. Regrettably I’m out of Bedlington.co.uk, regards RoseanneRainbow 🌈x

Can anybody explain to me what the 'hand-clapping' icon next to my name is? Passing my mouse over it reveals that I am a Newbie (1/14). You can call me what you will but after 10 years and 2½k posts I don't understand it. I'm sure there's a good explanation - it's just avoiding detection for me at the minute.

Yup @Canny lass, I’ve already texted Andy millne because I’ve suddenly become newbie after pup, terrier, contributory member then down the snake to Newbie!? What is going on?@Foxy @Andy Millne John Fox isn’t even registering.
