  1. @Malcolm Robinson! Suddenly I understand, Council business!. Once a chain of conversation gets going I find it very difficult to work backwards to find where it started! Gotcha, 🎶I can see clearly now the (chain) has gone 🎶, Malcolm I think you’re doing a grand job as a councillor but this rats nest of a website is more than I can stand. I’ll stick to Google and Twitter- are you on Twitter Malcolm? R🌈xx

    1st post in the topic.

WHAT Local WHAT area Council.??? I hate acronyms because they’re so exclusive.
And yes, I’m also an ‘ apprentice’ another reason to step out of this suddenly mystical society!!! B*****+*s!

That's looking much better! I had a (ONE) hornet sting about 10 years ago and it was pure agony. Several must have been a nightmare.

Hi there @Canny lass, thanks and yes absolutely. I described it to the doctor as feeling “ like I’m wearing a lead boot lined with red hot needles 😱!! Today is day 9, I’m still applying hydrocortisone cream. The Benadryl made no difference after I ran out of Anthisan. New experience for me, never even seen a hornet before. I was shocked by their nastiness, wasn’t wading through undergrowth, didn’t disturb them they jumped out and attacked us like guard dogs. Hmm nature tooth and claw etc but evil stinging monsters?!! I’ll never go there again. I don’t believe an adder would cause so much pain and they generally strike in defence when disturbed. Hornets 🐝 are a different kettle of fish.

Lilbill15,  I had residents on that estate who asked me to see what could be done.  Ive now ( I presume) got residents on another estate who have asked the same.  Common denominators................wonky roundabout and pressure on road systems.     One of the things I have asked for was the 30MPH extended up to the village and I have asked for some speed reduction suggestions on that bit of road too.

There are traffic and highways questions asked and answered with just about every application I have sat on.  Can't say I agree with most of their reports and usually I end up stating the bleeding obvious to most people, as in the above meeting!

  5. Oh @Alan Edgar (Eggy1948) couldn’t forget about you and the lovely folks in the group. I’m actually a contributing member so won’t lose touch. Just need to find a less convoluted way to talk to you. The recent changes have just confirmed that I can’t be chewed with this complicated website. As I said, I’ll use another door. I’m not going anywhere, just round the side door 😁🌈xxxxxxxxx

  6. @Canny lass ! I’ll probably never bliddy know! John Lynn told me the abattoir staff laughed at him and said “not possible “ can’t let you have any leftover sheep bits “health and safety “ blah blah. I have found I can travel or order online from Caribbean/Eastern European or North African suppliers but currently it’s losing its appeal 🙄xx Do you eat (the whole even) pig’s head or is it just symbolic or maybe just decorative? It doesn’t look as tempting as pics I’ve seen of cooked sheep’s heads though 😋😁🌈xx

  7. Many thanks @Canny lass , as a retired nurse I do carry anthisan and savlon cream in my pack along with mediwipes.  There was more than one sting in that area and I did consult a Dr asap which was Monday morning as it turned out (111- out of hours medical help took 7 hours overnight to respond) and I have just completed a weeks course of cetirizine and paracetamol. This was my first and hoped last encounter with hornets, vicious little buggers !😱🐝🐝!! I’ve attached today’s foot update 🤣😁🌈xx85E94012-94D1-407B-9CC6-873E7A44019D.thumb.jpeg.c50ce039bf0e8a78bec4690c2c152ba0.jpeg

  8. I’m not sure that I want to get the hang of this anymore. It shouldn’t be something like a ratmaze to get information. I can simplify things by just googling and it’ll take me to the subject within the Bedcouk website . I LOVE the conversation especially with the Illuminati such as Canny Lass and Eggy and occasional input from the likes of Alan Dickson but it’s very disheartening to run the gauntlet of the “rules “ and the intricacies of the system that was convoluted and recently appears to have changed for no obvious reason. In future I’ll be using a simpler portal. I’m too old for computer games. Regrettably I’m out of Bedlington.co.uk, regards RoseanneRainbow 🌈x

Can anybody explain to me what the 'hand-clapping' icon next to my name is? Passing my mouse over it reveals that I am a Newbie (1/14). You can call me what you will but after 10 years and 2½k posts I don't understand it. I'm sure there's a good explanation - it's just avoiding detection for me at the minute.

Yup @Canny lass, I’ve already texted Andy millne because I’ve suddenly become newbie after pup, terrier, contributory member then down the snake to Newbie!? What is going on?@Foxy @Andy Millne John Fox isn’t even registering.

Blummin eck! And look what happened to me:- ATTACKED by an angry swarm of hornets, buggers got me twice on my right ankle Saturday morning, last 2 pics are this morning 5 days on. Bliddy agony- red hot needles pricking my foot for days after the original excruciating stings! Didn’t disturb owt, they pounced from nearby undergrowth, after Max initially, then cos I waded in to bat them off him he put his head down and ran, me behind him but not fast enough! Talk about shocking! My first ever experience of hornets, had bee and wasp stings which were painful for a while but NOWT like this agony for days now 😖🐝

I had the same - my message went red and required approval. Must be the heat, far too warm for me. I'll have to move to the Outer Hebrides😎

I’m told Benbecula is particularly fresh at this time of year and the airport is not usually overcrowded 😁🌈xxR

  12. Hey,Mr Fox, thanks for this. New things seem to be happening which is unsettling for the likes of me, who hasn’t yet mastered the intricacies of the site anyway. I had a red letter message saying I was replying too quickly and must wait for (can’t remember.. seconds or minutes) before I could submit my reply??? Seriously @Andy Millne??

I know @Canny lasshas said in the past that the daylight hours are very limited in the winter months so in the late spring, summer, and early autumn  months the Swede's spend a lot of time socialising outdoors and preparing outdoors for next years winter months.

Add to that CL + OH have been 'covid confined' for this years early spring and summer I suspect they are off seeing their family.:)

Thank you very much Sir, just the reassurance I needed. Regards RoseanneRainbow ( off to Puce Bush Farm site this morning 😁🌈xxR)

  14. As usual with this “wonky “ website I looked back and found the answers to the questions arising at the end of the post!! @Andy Millne!!    Never mind the folks trying to get out of Broadacres, what about the residents along the B1331, I’ve already complained to NCC about the speeding from the Hazelmere roundabout to virtually Nedderton village. Yon ‘wonky’ roundabout doesn’t suggest a reduction in speed to any of the cars/motorbikes whose exhaust systems sound blown.

Did Miller Homes have ANY consultation with the council about the impact that such HUGE new housing estates might have on the transport infrastructure of this relatively small town?

All fine and dandy looking after the needs of the MANY new Bedlington residents but please let’s take a close look at the impact on the folks who were here before the new housing developments!

  15. @James many thanks for this James, however, without Blue House Farm as a reference point I’m a bit flummoxed. Green Letch position suggests I may be right in my supposition that the wood does occupy the position of the Francis Pit, and supports my theory that a lot of the old colliery sites were over planted with trees: BUT I do like to be sure. Maybe you could expand your map to cover Blue House Farm and B1331? , is that the right number for the Bed/Nedderton road, please? 😁🌈xxR

  16. Photos six and eight are 6) Blue House Farm through the trees immediately to the West of the plantation which I think sits on top of where Francis Pit was. photo 8 looking back from Blue House Farm towards the trees on the site of  ?Francis pit, new estate on the horizon. For my next trick I will attempt to conjure up the OS map for the area:……
