Jason - smashing photos, maybe you should consider doing a set to flog, say as prints or a calendar.
But, but, but, I'm not sure what you meant by "I live in a poxy little nowhere town called Bedlington" on your website ... maybe an amendment might be in order.
Ray Lamontagne!

Quite a serious allegation to be making, no?
I was thinking that!
-
Weird, there is also a Tony and Liam in Eastenders. Something bad going on there too.
Call the cops.

Aye, Merry Xmas and that.

Arrhh The Journal Bedlington.co.uk's most ardent new member.
Wonder why they keep joining but never contribute anything?
Seriously though, I'm told the local press is having a very hard time of it at the moment. One contact told me things have never been so bleak on the advertising revenue front. I do hope they survive Gordon Brown economics, as we will be a poorer community without them.
Aye, the local rags need more badly designed adverts full of spelling mistakes.

well, after 51 votes, the top 5 seem to be:
5th is The Market Tavern
4th is Another Pub that i Missed
3rd place is the Market Place Club
tied 1st place are the North and The Dun Cow.
It would be interesting to hear which pubs are in the 8 that i missed, i know fuggles has been mentioned, as has the bars down the station. Those can be added to the 2009 leaderboard, if i'm informed of their existance!
Only 16 more days to vote on this one folk's!
The Dun Cow looked particularly welcoming when I walked past with the dog yesterday.

Were the Club the Billiards or the Chinese?
The club man, woman, man!

Would there be that many people interested in another garage in bedlington tho? There is one on the front street and one at the station, is that not enough for the area.
I personally would rather nip down the road to asda - why? Cos i am too lazy to walk the length of the forecourt to pay for my petrol, when i can just shove my bank card into a machine to do it.
Personally i think the lion and spar is enough.
A 24 hour filling station would be ideal for the members of the Sun Inn Gentlemen's Club to stock up on late night goodies; it would save Pieheed having to traipse down to the North in his bare feet for a packet of snouts.

Station Club does a good pint of Boddingtons, gets you in the mood for a Chinese near were the billiards used to be.
A marvellous venue; I worked there for 2 years.

The Fall did some reasonable Christmasish covers as Peel Sessions (Jingle Bell Rock. Hark the Hearald Angels Sing).
Also Bowie and Bing's Little Drummer Boy!.
And Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses. Class.
Aye, The Fall are the cornerstone of any decent Christmas soundtrack like.

Try doing what the girlies have to do - that'll save the trainers.
Handstands?

Was took last night from the top of the havelock bridge down by the station.. !!
long exposure to catch the car lights travelling!!
Mint! A long exposure photograph of a dual carriageway, with 2 cars on, at night.
I hope you've got the copyright for this technique, or people may start ripping it off.

i know this is a pretty old topic..but I'm pretty sure i witnessed something along these lines the other day. 7th Dec to be exact.
There i was at the bus stop (across the road from moby dicks) just minding my own business, and i heard a big bang, looks up at the Red Lion, and there's some guy punching the bloody phone box. It smashed in eventually. He ran off, a couple of minutes later a police car made its way up the bank to the lion..while there, this YOB, whoever he was, was making his way across the 2 zebra crossings, and at the second one, stopping 2 cars, he began kicking them and hitting them, one drove off, but the one on the right hand side lane was still there, this man, opened the passenger door, and just jumped in :S
now i'm just using common sense here when i say the car was in the right hand side lane before the roundabout, so they would have been going right yes? But after a bit of wobbling about in the car, it turned left towards the front street.
hmmmm
Bloody yobs.

YUMMY!!!!
Sounds like the obvious place to go for an Epicurean feast on a Sunday.
-

Where the bliddy hell is Wisky's?!

Four, I only know of one, when did Raisbecks stop running? Thats done me as I have to get to the Station Club on Friday night, bit of a reunion. No Raisbecks, no pick up on Pudlers lane then.
Just take Shanks' pony like everyone else.
Kids, they don't know they're born these days.

Don`t worry about it Pete, the last time Denzel had the need for a brush and comb is when he started school
True, my bushy mane is a little unkempt, it's time I ditched the Freddie Boswell look.

Hey, everyone, look at me! I live in a dustbin like Top Cat and I drive a talking car like KITT.
It's December in the Bedlington Look at ME! Prediction League and we're off to a high-scoring me me me start:
1. Mr Darn 10pts
2. Denzel 10
3. Supermac 9
4. Davepa 9
5. Pdean 7
6. TonyC 7
7. Hamburger Pimp hey that's me LOLZ! 5
8. Geddy 4
Denzel now has his feet under the table and is making his presence felt. Supermac, TonyC and Darno are as consistent as ever, while Geddy and I look to be in for another long month.
Keep it solipsistic, sports fans!
I shall now be going 'hammer and tongs' at this for the rest of the season, now that Hamburger Pimp has revealed the prize for the winner; a 1/32nd scale model of the Red Lion, resplendent with day-glo stickers and the ubiquitous broken glass outside.

Theres one at the Top End they don't charge. The Toons winning 2 0 by the way, I have got them at 3 0 in the Bedlington mini leauge.
The Top End now has four (count them, four!) ATM's Pete; thankfully the demise of the Raisbeck keeps Station riff-raff away.

Hot Millyuns and Kings at The Station do good work.
The Station is quite rightly fabled for the quality of its takeaways; indeed, a menu arrived from a one near the club that does parmo's, so I may have to give that one a try.
Chinchilla's for me though, especially the kebab calzone.

The best local band I've ever heard were the Station's own 'Greek Love'. Quality electronica for the discerning music lover.
