  1. Somewhat ironic in that the Brexit Party saved him from the chop. Perhaps he should look at his own performance rather than blame everything on Brexit.
  2. Ashington, Cramlington and Morpeth appear to have a branch. Bedlington would have to have a volunteer moderator to start I believe. https://www.freecycle.org/browse/UK/North East
  3. Cheers Malcolm, just read it thanks. Keep up the good work.
  4. Hi Malcolm, This may be too deep or controversial. Who does or should a Bedlington Independent Councillor advise us on to vote on for the best interests of Bedlington in a General election?
  5. I am sure I enjoyed crossing the footbridge over the main track when I was younger however I can not remember when it was destroyed!
  6. It is a difficult decision should a family member have to move into a care home because of dementia. I would recommend that you first visit the home and ask questions to reassure yourself that the home has 'expert care'. If you become a Dementia Friend it will aid your understanding of the illness and may assist you to decide what you need to consider. My mother had dementia and my mother-in-law now has dementia. With support, people with dementia can and do take an active role in life. https://www.dementiafriends.org.uk/register-digital-friend
  7. You can obtain a copy of Wills and Probate Records for £1.50 using the official Government website. You can use this service to search for a probate record in England and Wales, check if probate has been issued, check the type of probate issued, order a copy of a probate record (including a will, if there is one) https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/#wills
  8. Recently came across this Network and I had a good feeling when I gave stuff away rather than taking it to the local tip. The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 5,319 groups with 9,202,164 members around the world, and next door to you. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (and getting) stuff for free in their own towns and neighborhoods. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by local volunteers. https://www.freecycle.org/
  9. Hi Brian, welcome back. I lost a great friend and family member owing to undiagnosed Sepsis. At times it can be difficult to recognise. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/sepsis/
  10. I think former Wansbeck miners and their families would like to here him answer the questions.
  11. I find it difficult to name my favourite Christmas Songs/Records as there are so many. I will start with this as I believe whatever age you are it is never too late to believe in Father Christmas.
  12. The UK voted to leave the EU by 52% to 48%. People in Northumberland voted strongly in favour of leaving the European Union. Perhaps our local councilors can advise us of where they stand on that? As we have some great Independent representatives they could maybe advise and guide us on their views.
  13. I have access to some old census and voters data and am quite happy to assist anyone from Bedlington who is researching their own family history. There is a Free website that may also assist you with your research. https://www.freebmd.org.uk/search
  14. Yes Vic, That is our MP although I suspect that he has plans to be PM.
  15. I think only the Conservative Party could oust him in Wansbeck although that would be a big ask.
  16. I have a family history that stems from a community of Bedlington Miners who have always supported the Labour Party. I am however , not a fan of our MP Ian Lavery. I also do not know a miner who supports him. I do respect him if he has registered as a Dementia Friend and if it was not a publicity stunt then I applaud him.
  17. If you check the likes of TripAdvisor you will no doubt come across the best things to do in Bedlington however who in the town would agree with their suggestions. Perhaps we can suggest things that we should preserve for the town. i.e. 1. Bedlington History Society 2. Bedlington Community Centre 3. Bedlington Social Club 4. Bedlington.Co.UK 5. Bedlington Library
  18. Cheers lads however Its Oh So Quiet!
  19. Charlotte-Rose 'rang the bell recently' so thanks to all who supported her through her treatment.☺️
  20. Great post Alan..... Here we go again!
  21. I have not posted for some time as a result of ill-health and death of a family member. Previously Brexit and Elections were discussed and there were strong views. Perhaps the site has changed in my absence?
  22. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-tyne-45708563/dad-shaves-his-head-to-support-daughter-with-neuroblastoma It would be great to see the people of Bedlington support Scott & Kay in their efforts to raise £2,000 to help support Charlotte-Rose through her treatment. https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/charlotte-rose-sibley
