  4. He's an old Victorian baron gets he's workers on zero hour contracts, sells replica shirts for ridiculous ammonts of Money which are made for 5bob in sweat shop in the Far East , capitalism in the most extreme That's what UKIP will give you, that's why he would fit the bill.....
  5. The newcastle fans could, get rid of him if they show unity It would be painful but it can be done!!! Stop going to the matches & stop buying the merchandise if the people up there keep on giving him Money he will stay if you stop feeding him he will go ... 6. If anyone is interested I came across the website of mikcritchlow.com he has a good array Of photos of miners picnic etc some of the faces are pretty soulless but the content is very good It's mostly ashington people & Blyth power station but there are a few from bedlington miners picnic I think some of the older members will recognise some people, worth taking a look at
  7. I guess they weren't scaffolding or steeple jaccks
  8. Symptoms, you can't do that now they would sack you on the spot,if you had a 2 hour break can't see what production gets done You can see why firms employ Eastern Europens you'd never see them having 2 hr breaks...by the way there still lots of pubs In greenwich which are packed 7 days a week locals, students, tourists etc...
  9. I live in greenwich ??. But what has walking underneath the river Thames got to do with lunch breaks unless that's what people do on There 20 min break?????
  10. Eggy that's what I tell my fellow workers the firm I work for are quite good with breaks in fact very flexi they say as long as the work is done what's required .. Unfortunately you get a few most who will grizzle at anything & in the end put in danger of jeopardising the thing we Have in place I say to them exactly what you said, guess you can't win sometimes....
  11. Kieth,I don't know we're eggy is pulling these break times from your actual time allowed is 20mins if you work more Than 6hrs goverment directive not unions,if a firm doesn't recognise unions that's what you get like it or lump it... Firms who work with unions tend to get a better deal that's a fact, when the union will discuss a deal which in the First instance will be with the lads & lasses on the shop floor & what they would like,we as union officials Will put this to management...But if management wanted to be mean they can quote goverment rules Which means you have to go with what they say, sometimes you might get something out of them as they like to Be seen to been good, theres some different rules for shift workers but not a lot of difference... What's annoying is working class people slagging unions off, maybe they should ask what they can do for them instead Of been treated like Victorian slaves because that's what's happening thatcher started it.....
  12. Vic fair comment any charity is good but it is up to individual where he or she donates I'm just saying it's just a bit of fun it's not forced
  13. Mercuryg when you do the ice bucket challenge your supposed to give £5 to the motor neuron disease charity, when you do the challenge you can nominate somebody else then it goes on,it's about having a LAUGH & contributing to a good cause....
  14. Yep used to last shop to bed train station
  15. Eggy does the hot pipe still exist with the power station gone thought that would of disappeared ??.
  16. Thatcher was clever on her choice of letting working class people buy there council houses at ridiculous low prices, people Bought them spent money they did not have trying to better themselves, then lost there jobs, then there houses, with nowhere else to Live.she did'nt invest the money into more housing,so it was her way of killing the community we loved,it was also another swipe at The Woking class people she loathed.on the other front it was another way of trying to destroy union workers rights if there was a strike Most people would break it if they were property owners.during the miners strike it would be interesting to see the miners who went Back were home owners on ratio with the ones who weren't ... When lord Gormley took on the Tories I bet there wasn't as many home owners as the later... Mind you Arthur's big ego didn't help..
  17. Meant to say stop the Eastern Europeans coming
