Checked with John Krzyzanowski and he hasn't found any info so we don't have any definate proof but I would say you were right. This is G Robinson's advert in the St Cuthbert's parish magazine of 1947 sent to me electronically by Peter Morgan :-

Photo from Helen Millar on the Bygone Bedlington Facebook group. Helen's dad, Bill pearcey played for Bedlington Mechanics in the 50's as well as other local . We haven't managed to identify this team as the strip does not match any of those in the Gallery 'Sports' albums.

Anyone any ideas on the team or names of anyone in the photo?

The origins of the word ‘mistletoe’ are two Anglo-Saxon words: mistel meaning dung and tan meaning stick or branch. So, mistletoe literally means dung on a stick.

Answer = I didn’t - but if I had of waited 24 hours before starting on the quiz I would have. I watched QI serie 19 episode 8 and it was on there and Sally Phillips 9comedian) gave the answer 

Photo from David Bailey who's great granda was Geordie Graham who lived in Haig Road then moved to Hollymout Square and Geordie is in the photo. 

Has anyone elses family got this photo? David has no info on where the trip was to. Anyne got any ideas?

@Mal had a think, and clart, on what you proposed re certificate and anything is possible but naturally on something that is normally a pure online award there will be some issues to overcome.

These are the tnings I am thinking about :-   

design and produce a certificate using my Winows Vista + Microsoft Digital Image pro 10 (as that is the only software I have

print off the certificate - and as I am no professional that would be to an A4 sheet of paper. What dimensions would the certificate be = what are the standard picture frame sizes, between A5 & A4, that TFOWBC could by to fit certificate into

Posting a certificate to TFOWC - looking at their FB page they don't have an address for where to post anything to and if they did it would have to have a letter box wide enough to accept an A4 sheet,8.27 x 11.69 inches or 21 x 29.7 centermeters, wth cardboard support to stop it getting bent/damaged in the post.

@Maggie/915 @Canny lass Series 27 Episode 16. In Northumberland they started at Berwick and ended up in Bedlington before going to sale rooms in West Yorkshire. ( I didn't watch the program I just skipped through it on BBC iPlayer). All they showed of Bedlington was the shop front and inside the shop so had a Google and the Penny Black Antique shop is 66a East End Front Street.

In my opinoin one of the worst antique shows broadcast. it must be years ago when I watched an episode and it was two people inside a shop pretending to barter over a piece of junk. But as it's Bedlington I will record and see if the town gets a mention and if any views of the town are shown
