  1. The School Crossing Patrol provision is still in place at this site. The "lollipop man" requested being relocated to a less busy site, perfectly understandable, as it's too stressful, and I think we all fear that it's a ticking time-bomb and we're just waiting for the casualties or deaths to prompt a quick, fuller, and more appropriate solution to the ongoing traffic problems. The "lollipop man" is still employed nearby, and the resultant vacancy awaits a very brave individual...!
  2. From info in the newspapers, Yes, to begin with they will be an Online Only station. Next year, the service should also be available on FM during short term broadcasts - or RSL's - in official radio speak. Ultra Radio similarly plans to launch online on 1st June 2011, followed by a 28-day RSL (so also on FM) from 8th June 2011 - 5th July 2011.
  3. Summarising the press cuttings and information on all 3 organisations; = They each intend to provide local radio content which will include or champion Bedlington = Ultra Radio will transmit from Bedlington, although the studio will be in Ashington. = Synergy will have studios in, as well as transmit from Bedlington. = Koast Radio is hoping to be in Bedlington. Latest Facebook posts suggest a premises delay - but we should know in less than 1 week as they are due to launch on 1st November. So yes it seems that up to now, there are three groups which feel that a Community Radio Service would be of benefit to the area. They won't all be able to be "on air" [i.e. on FM licenced by Ofcom] at the same time though. So perhaps people should be able to listen to each of them in turn.
