  1. passed today and it looked like just ladies stuff... had hoped it would sell mens n kids stuff but there you go.. no doubt another shop that will be here today and gone tomorrow
  2. I go to Tesco and Netto as I don't drive. I do have to travel every week or so for things I can't buy in these stores. The trouble with Tesco is, they get stuff in you use and then they delete it! you ask and they say they will get it back in...it scarecly happens! I don't think Asda pans out any cheaper than Tesco or Netto - it's just the lack of variety! The library could do with an update, and what goes on in the community centre? we never hear of anything? And my kids use the parks!
  3. Didn't know about meeting. can't attend as I'm at my daughters high schooltomorrow night from half 6 til 9 as we have important meeting about her choices for year 10 and meetings with all her teachers. Trying to find out if anyone of our members going. Just wish I had more time to devote to this
  4. It seems everyone in Bedlington has had enough.. We have for a long time but we've just moaned to others about it in every day conversations and not to those we should be moaning to!I know nothing about the politics either but we've all had enough and that's why we are looking for ways to make our voices heard!
  5. that's why we set up the save bedlington page on facebook. It's on here too! I am awaiting a reply from Tesco re: the expansion. And I'm waiting for MP's to get back to me! we are all sick of Bedlington being the "poor relation". We have said we have a great community, a safe place to live and our M.P's, councillors, council etc.. are letting Bedlington go to the dogs! We deserve decent facilities to meet our needs and the people of Bedlington have had enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Just to let you know - got my first reply from the councillors I e-mailed:- Arthur Pegg said "You have raised several issues. I shall consult my fellow councillors and follow up your concerns and get back to you" It's a start!!!!!!!!!!!! Least I got a reply !
  7. they do food but nowhere for kids to go n sit with mates. Most McD's have soft play for little one's and a place a family can go and chill... and as i say, somewhere teens can meet mates and have a drink/something to eat and be in the warm instead of raking the streets with nowhere to go?? it's not about fast food, its about somewhere to go and sit indoors!
  8. Thanks for all your comments so far! We didn't know about other groups when we started our's, but we are keen to join forces with Friend's of Gallagher park and Save Bedlington's venue's (who've contacted us to do so) as well as expand the group outside the internet so everyone can partake. There's been lots of ideas about poster's,petitions, attaining people's opinion's etc.., but hey, we only started the group a few weeks ago! Give us time! We are just two hard working busy mum's who are sick of Bedlington having nothing and want a future for our kid's in Bedlington because we love the community we live in. We just got off our arses to do something. We are not clever on computers, nor wise to the ins and outs of politics etc.. - we just wanted to DO SOMETHING! We know people these days lead such busy lives and can't attend meetings etc.. but we thought the more comments we could attain, the more we could show our MP's, councillors, council etc.. how we feel. Maybe we do have our head in the clouds, but we are trying to do SOMETHING! Surely it's better to try and do something rather than do nothing at all??
  9. A mega fast reply as I've so much to do!!I know where you are coming from and agree with all you say but we can't sit back and do nowt. I know they all say they'll do this n that to get our votes but hey, they work for us and if we don't make a stand and keep on their backs then Bedlington will continue to go to the dogs! We have only been going a few weeks and haven't much time spare but we will make sure we are heard! there's a bit before the elections so we'll see what we can do before then!
  10. We have set up a Save Bedlington Facebook group as we are sick of Bedlington having nothing - no shops, nowhere for the kids to go etc..Pubs, banks, building societies - all deserting Bedlington. It's going to become a ghost town if we don't do something about it. We have a lovely community. A safe place to live. We deserve facilities to meet our needs. All that money spent on the Market Place and for what? It's surrounded by empty buildings for a start. The Market being on there isn't happening (well, let's face it, no stalls come anyway)...and what's happening with Tesco's? Is it still going to expand? When the Christmas light's were switched on, what a turn-out! The community got together and had a great time(probably as it's been the only event to happen, but never mind). The teens had a good night listening to the school's bands (and I think live bands should be a regular thing!). There was no trouble. It just proved how Bedlington has great community spirit! Lots of people have opinions on why they are unhappy about Bedlington, what they want for Bedlington etc.. That's why we need to get together and make sure our voices are heard. If you care about Bedlington, please support us. Either join our Facebook group and leave your comments/opinions/ideas etc.., or have your say by e-mailing us at savebedlington@hotmail.co.uk.We can't make our MP's/councillors/council listen unless we bombard them with our opinions! THANKS
