  1. thats my point CK, i am paying for them, and i'm paying for the others who dont pay!

it wouldnt be so bad if she got all the money, but instead it goes into this big pot and shared out to everyone, why should i pay for other peoples kids?

the amount should relate to the amount recieved by the parent with custody.

CSA, stands for, Causes Severe Aggravation

  2. Hello all

I am carrying out research on the air raids on England and Scotland in WW1.

A Zeppelin airship dropped bombs on and around Beddlington on 14th/15th April 1915.

I have some information on this raid, but I would dearly like to make contact with others who might assist my research. can anyone help, please, or put me in touch with a local historian (I am based in London)...?

Three bombs fell in Bedlington, as far as I am aware:

1 Two bombs fell in a field south of Land House Farm (the windows of the farm were smashed)

2 An explosive bomb fell in a field 500 yds west of the police station.

3 Other bombs fell in West Sleekburn, Bomarsund colliery, Brick Field (nr Choppington station), German House (breaking the windows of the Station hotel, Choppington), and Glebe Farm.

The remains of the bombs were collected and taken to Bedlington Police station.

I don't know the area, so I would appreciate any local information/knowledge. Do these places still exist?

    Thanks

I believe there was a bomb droped on the brick yard or a German plane crashed there, this was during the second world war. It was before my time so I dont know how accurate my statment is but there may be some of the senior members of Bedlington that can answer your questions. The brick yard was situated between the station and Barrington over towards Red row as I recall.

  3. No not in the park - that was a reference to the TV "drama"! :-)

It was behind the Bedlington Station Library, I'm told. Big flap at the time, but turned out not to be foul play, or so says the grape vine.

Was surprised nobody posted at the time. An odd few other interesting rumours running around the Town too. Maybe I should start a rumour factory column (under a pen name)?

A rumour factory column, now theres an idea, I will look forward to that.

  4. One ear bigger than the other!

"Grower Jeff Smith, 63, said: "This is no ordinary rabbit. We are dealing with a monster.

"It is absolutely massive. I have seen its prints and they are huge, bigger than a deer. It is a brute of a thing."

Kill it! Somebody just kill it!

Could this be Northumberlands answer to big foot and when will the fuzzy photographs be available on the BBC web site?

  5. The US & Canada instituted similar legislation some time ago, check some of the effects here. (Sorry Denzel, it's American  )

I checked that link out Swalnalla its a prety grim picture when businesses are taking that kind of knock through the smoking ban.

In Ireland the smoking ban is suposed to be working or so they tell us, but I was talking to a fellow that had just come over from Dublin, he descibed it much the same there as your link shows. More and more people are buying a six pack and staying at home.

  6. not that it's a fact, but i find it kinda magical...

    YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE

    1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate

(more than once but less than 10)

    2. Multiply this number by 2

    3. Add 5

    4. Multiply it by 50

    5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1756 .

    If you haven't, add 1755.

    6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number.

The first digit of this was your original number

(i.e., how many times you want to have chocolate each week).

    The next two numbers are

    YOUR AGE!

well i thought it was clever!

Tried this twice, first time I was younger than what I am next time I was ten years older. never was any good at maths but I'l take the first result as correct.

  7. Don't get too excited, it was mainly just the search engines having a trawl for your collective wisdom.

I'm not entirely sure why the Chinese one (baidu.com) should be taking such a keen interest in the Town though. Maybe we are due for a new influx of take-away operators? ;)

How many do you need? Leicester is over flowing with them. seems like ten new ones pop up every day.

There is a second and third episode as well.

Sorry if this wasn't a proper link. I'm a cyberdummie. Go on the site and watch 'kenya' and 'mr stabby'

The cows magic and the spider really rocks :o
