  1. They are owned my the same man but the food wasnt a patch on Ashiana. Only been once mind so we might have been unlucky, but i think it will be back to Ashiana for me, even if it is dearer.
  2. Had an Indians from Bombay nights, not as good as Shelley was, and not a patch on Ashiana.
  3. Happy New year to all Bedlington folk past and present. Hope that 2009 is a good one for all of you.
  4. Did anyone here about the trouble in Bedlington last weekend? Boxing day night ( trouble on street, and a few cars damaged.) saturday night ( trouble at Tesco's) Whats the world coming to? Or whats Bedlington coming to?
  5. Is the food at Bombay nights the same quality as Ashiana? Ashiana is excellent but they dont deliver. Indians at the station ok too. Ocean palace chinese used to be good but been poor of late.
  6. Think the shop was "Wards" what is now a music teachers shop I think.
  7. Quite. Ross is a talentless, overpaid, and arrogant. £6 million a year out licence payers money, whos idea was that? Apparently Gary Glitter has left a message on Jonathon Ross's answer machine saying that he has shagged his daughter. Whos laughing now?
  8. Loads of police cars and helicopter at bottom of church lane tonight at around 1800-1830 hours, anyone know what all the fuss was about?
  9. I think that permission for the building at the school was denied.
  10. Yes they said there was no market for coal and it was tuppence a ton from abroad, turns out we cannot import enough and they are opening not closing mines. We paid fortunes to make miners redundant, then kept them on the dole, now we dont have enough coal. If the railways had remained state run alot of people may still be alive today. The far east produces cheap low quality goods its true, but we can compete by providing quality. As wages and aspirations of the workers in these countries increase we will find a more level playing field.
  11. To be honest just how many of the pubs in Bedlington survive at all is a mystery to me. Never seems many in the majority of them.
  12. Small world!! yes we liked it out there very much. We have visited Canada and the US a lot as my brother lives in California (ex Ashington pit electrician) and we have freinds in Ontario, Alberta and BC. Tony offered me a job at the mine at Campbell River, but I have a lot going on here, and to be honest I like living in Bedlington! but i can see the attraction in moving out there. Are you from Bedlington origionally?
  13. Tony Robson (electrician at the coal mine) think his Dad was a manager there also. Tony is now on Vancouver Island, visited him last summer. We never got to Grand Cache but we stayed in Edmonton and went through the Icefields etc. Very nice place, bet its cold there now.
  14. I have a freind who lived in Grand Cache Alberta, some time ago mind.
  15. Its looking like Jose is to be offered job. Good manager with a proven track record at top club level. However it does not seem quite right to have a foreigner managing the England team, when the national anthem plays it will mean nothing to him. On the other hand do we have an Englishman upto the job?
  16. Wansbeck council, such paragons of virtue. They would never be involved in any form of corruption with any such people surely.
