Northumberland will have to fit in somewhere to get it onto social media. The chair informed those present Northumberland county Council were no longer involved and 1 of the 4 tendering for the event held the name so we were unable to continue for 2 legitimate reasons. Gallagher Park Live Music Festival

Bedlington Gallagher Park

Bedlington’s fabulous free festival GALLAGHER PARK LIVE MUSIC FESTIVAL is confirmed for Saturday 27th July 2019!
Headlined by Matt Cardle last year, the music festival returns to the North East. It’s everything you would expect from a festival including a wide variety of bands and entertainment to entertain all the family along with fantastic local food.
Headlining the festival this year are THE SOUTH (featuring members of The Beautiful South), along with teenage idol CHLOE ROSE, JACK & TIM and CBeebies presenter SID SLOANE!

Celebrating their 10th year anniversary and 30 years since The Beautiful South released ‘Song For Whoever’, The South are an impressive 9 piece band who feature former members of The Beautiful South including singer Alison Wheeler and lifelong sax player Gaz Birtles. Since Dave Hemingway, the original singer, left the group at the end of 2016, Gaz has moved across to front the band with Alison and taken on vocal duties. They play the songs made famous by The Beautiful South and bring back the full flavour and arrangements with this exciting live band.
After a successful year of touring the theatres and festivals of the UK up and down the country, The South are keeping alive all those timeless songs - A Little Time (the number one single), Perfect 10, Rotterdam, Song For Whoever, Old Red Eyes Is Back, Good as Gold, Don't Marry Her plus many more singles and album tracks as well as a few choice South originals. All performed again live, these songs span an impressive 20 year career starting way back in 1989!
Come on! Let’s Carry On… Regardless!

East Bedlington Parish Council Chariman Keith Grimes said, “This fabulous festival formally known as Northumberland Live Bedlington is back with a new name and a new look taking place at Gallagher Park in Bedlington this Summer, where we are thrilled to welcome The South as being our headline act this year having recently completed a successful Spring 2019 UK tour, alongside Chloe Rose and CBeebies presenter Sid Sloane. This festival is suitable for all members of the family.

    • A big-hearted donation by one of South East Northumberland’s largest employers has enabled local football club, Bedlington Terriers FC, to provide its players, staff and visitors with rapid emergency response should it ever be needed.
Lynemouth Power Station has gifted the community club with a life-saving heart defibrillator which will now be installed at the Welfare Park ground. If deployed within three to five minutes of a cardiac arrest, such equipment could potentially increase the chances of someone surviving a heart attack from six to 74 per cent. Each minute without CPR and defibrillation also reduces a patient’s survival rate by between seven and ten per cent.*
The Northern League Division Two club is home to seven teams and over 80 footballers from senior players to an under 6 ‘tots’ team. Along with daily training sessions and match attendances, the club sees hundreds of people visiting the ground on a weekly basis therefore the defibrillator has been very well received by all.
Rowan Edwards, Commercial Director of Bedlington Terriers FC, commented, “This is a vital piece of first aid equipment and we are extremely grateful to Lynemouth Power Station for their kind donation. Given the number of on-site staff, players training each week and visitors to the ground, it is essential that our trained staff have instant access to life-saving equipment in case of emergencies. It will mean a lot to everyone here at the club as well as the local community, so we’re very grateful for the power station’s support.”
Janet Mole from Lynemouth Power Station added, “Having these devices installed in popular public places and venues is so important, so rather than just donate to the fundraising effort, we decided to purchase the equipment outright on behalf of the club. As a local employer, it is important that community initiatives like this are well supported so we’re delighted to hand over the defibrillator to all at the club.”
