The Telegraph now advocates Brexit!

Having initially supported Cameron and Osborne, and the official Tory line, quite strongly, The Telegraph is now recommending readers to vote Leave.

Its reasons for switching are:

Quote

...

Since a referendum campaign is a binary choice, the fact that Remain has lost ground is a clear sign that they have also been losing the argument. So why have they failed to champion the merits of EU membership? Because the case for staying is too weak to sell.

For something that was supposed to be beneficial to the British economy, membership has proved to be extremely expensive and increasingly detrimental to job creation.

An air of perpetual crisis grips an institution ostensibly established to bring peace, security and democracy to a continent ravaged by 20th-century wars. For something that was supposed to be beneficial to the British economy, membership has proved to be extremely expensive and increasingly detrimental to job creation. Leave aside the sums we pay directly into the Commission’s coffers, it has been estimated that the annual cost to UK businesses and the public sector of EU social policy is more than £9 billion.

Perhaps the biggest concern among those still unsure how to vote is the impact on trade. From the Chancellor and the Governor of the Bank of England to the CBI and the IMF, we have been warned that our ability to trade will be impaired. But why should this be so? Many countries trade with the EU without being members of it.

Moreover, the idea that we benefit from membership is belied by the fact that the UK is currently running the biggest trade deficit in its history with the Eurozone nations, and especially with Germany. The fact is, we do not need a trade deal in order to sell and buy goods; and the contention that we will spend the next 10 years in some sort of economic limbo while we negotiate a new relationship with our neighbours is simply risible.

It concludes:

Quote

...there is a world beyond Europe that the Remain camp simply ignores. A world that offers enormous opportunities for Britain to be a global player once more.

The case for Leaving is not negative and jingoistic. It is optimistic and hopeful. It is the case for a strong, independent and outward-looking Britain. Just as in 1973, when we joined the Common Market, we are at a crossroads in our history. The path we took then offered much but led us into a cul-de-sac, hemmed in by a sclerotic, hide-bound, rules-obsessed, inward‑looking institution.

The EU belongs to the past. On Thursday we hope the country chooses the future – and votes to leave.

The full article is definitely worth a read.

We must vote Leave to create a Britain fit for the future

So basically, even though they knew all this from the very beginning, they have now decided the EU isn't the place to be, and have leaped the fence, based, it seems, purely on the way the latest polls seem to be pointing. Well, after a Brexit, they'll still need readers, won't they? :D

Or could it be that they now think that in Cameron and Osborne they are flogging dead horses, and that whoever the Tory Party now elects is going to be anti-Brussels?  Most Tory MPs are EUphiles, but 70%+ of constituency parties most certainly are not.  So, it's make your mind up time for a lot of Tory MPs - a total rethink or be deselected. The pressure will be on the instant Dave is pushed out.

Dave sneaked by his own constituency association by lying in his teeth.  They actually called him back for interview because they suspected he wasn't being totally honest. But, he fooled them a second time, and they are furious.  When he was elected party leader he became untouchable, but it wouldn't surprise if they put the boot in when he's forced out, especially as he has been trying hard to sideline local associations.  No local Tory association is going to make a Cameron type mistake again, and candidates will be very thoroughly investigated.  Boris knows all this and more - he's well ahead of the game.

The TV news seems to have gone in to a biased bonanza with anyone who is even thinking of voting leave is portrayed as racist evil and responsible for all that's wrong in the world

Cameron and his cronies cant utter a phrase without calling Nigel Farage or Boris, the recall of parliament tomorrow will I am sure be a well choreographed affair that will blame all who support brexit on this poor young woman's murder.

Never mind winging about what figure is written on the side of a bus or bleating  that they are offended by an advert / poster, what kind of government is it that uses such a tragic event as has happened  to play to the audience for votes

I never heard any TV report of this  young woman or her workmates condition, maybe the mans profile does not fit in with the satanized reporting we are been fed

A man has been arrested after a 17-year-old girl was stabbed and raped after being dragged from a Pizza Hut restaurant in Epsom, Surrey.

Police were called to the restaurant in Waterloo Road at 10.36pm on Friday following reports a man had entered the premises and assaulted a member of staff before dragging a young woman out of the building

If the photo had been retouched in any significant way there may have been grounds for complaint, but it hasn't!  The people comparing it to a Nazi one need to take off their rose-coloured glasses: the Nazi one shows both sexes and children, it's quite hard to spot any females or any children in the modern one.

Q) Can you explain why practically all these so-called refugees are males.

A) You are a FILTHY @@@@@@@@ RACIST!

Q) How can that be true when I advocate considering taking anyone from anywhere in the world according to qualifications or true refugee status, and you support a European enclave which discriminates - even impoverishes - people who do not fit a European identity?

A) I'm not answering questions from a RACIST!

News reports here today state that the latest opinion poll in Britain shows a swing towards 'Remain'. In the next breath they state that "Britain's opinion polls are notoriously unreliable". That's got all angles covered I think.

Have they got this angle covered?

Poll: Majority of Swedes want to leave EU in case of Brexit  I think you'd be in a race with the Danes though.  The few Norwegians I've had contact with really really want us to leave.  It would actually give Norway and EFTA a lot more clout as we'll undoubtedly rejoin that club quite quickly.  It was daft to leave EFTA - and also cut our commonwealth ties - in the first place.  Interesting that the Remanians never want to talk about EFTA.

George Osborne echoed this message in his Peston on Sunday interview on ITV, saying: "There is no turning back. It is a one-way door to a much more uncertain world, where people's jobs and livelihoods are at risk."

'Uncertain.' As opposed to the absolute certainty of people's jobs and livelihoods being at risk by remaining in the EU, I suppose.
