Active Northumberland and Northumberland County Council are investing £3.5 million to modernise Concordia.

Something about new family entertainment at the centre.

Work to start September.

Clip and Climb Activity

Soft Play facilities

Ten pin bowling

Bruce Ledger chief exec of Active Northumberland says this is just the start of our site improvements

Councillor Val Tyler cabinet member for arts leisure and culture says

".We recognise that there is an increased demand for proved facilities and the refurbishment will make the centre fit for the 21st century"

If health and wellbeing is so very important we can expect great things to happen in Bedlington.

After all Val is our very own County Councillor and lives right here in Bedlington.

And.. is always contributing to the town website?

Well, she reads it anyway; else she wouldn't be heard complaining when other political parties do contribute to it, or be demanding that their contributions be removed!

Couldn't agree more, Maggie. Exactly what we are saying over on Make A Noise for Bedlington. One wonders where some people's priorities lie.

Like an election , I would love to see all five of our Bedlingtonshire / Northumberland County Councillors give us details of their plans for our town.

Consultation is good but we need to know what is possible and exactly what these people who are our elected representatives see or plan for the future..

One starting point would be to see our town on large sign posts on the Spine Road and the A1.

Brown heritage notices about the importance of our history.

Cycle tracks need to include Bedlington on the county map.

Another week another £4:5 m deal with Arch. funding.

This time it is a forty bed roomed inn.

'The Commissioners Quay Inn for Blyth.

I can see a similar development being successful in Bedlington.

Somewhere people with Bedlington Terriers and an interest in history can stay.

Railway history

Early Christianity and much more.

What will happen next week with Arch funding?
