The Union always flooded  the mess rooms in our workplace with Posters "advising" us which way to vote............wasn't always the "right decision"

The red flag was the emblem of the British Labour Party from its inception until the Labour Party Conference of 1986 when it was replaced by a red rose, itself a variant of the "Fist and Rose" then in wide use by left of center parties in Europe. The more floral red rose design has subsequently been adopted by a number of other socialist and social-democratic parties throughout Europe

 

So, yet another tweak that tribal Labour voters failed to notice, and which the London-centric liberal elites who control the party would rather leave highly ambiguous?

 

Our Mr Lavery has started to notice though.  Sooner or later he's going to work out that he's in the wrong party.  The question is will he have the guts to do anything about it, or will he learn to keep his mouth shut, and so keep his seat on the political gravy train?

I got a leaflet through the door by someone called Lavery explaining what he has done/will do for Bedlington - really!!!!

Lavery's  let nearly four years pass by doing absolutely nothing for Bedlington. Other than fighting for grants and investment into Ashington  and of course lets not forget the new stand at his football club that is being supported by Arch the development company (Northumberland County Council).  His only other activity that springs to mind is his personal battle for Justice for an Industrial Dispute that he was involved in  thirty years ago. Many of his constituents in this town are too young to remember that dispute but lets hope they remember the last four years when election time comes around. The sad part is our County Councillors think the Sun shines out of his backside,  Bedlington is a long way down on his list of priorities, He's only making noises now because elections are on the horizon however other than his clique over here, I cannot think of anyone in the Town that would have reason to vote for him.

Bishop Auckland Labour mayor defects to UKIP  and it's from the Beeb, so every word must be true and unbiased!

 

Mr Race said: "The Labour Party that I once knew - the party that stuck up for the working families - is no more.

 

"We have a cosy consensus of politicians in Westminster who spend more time patting each other on the back than representing the people who pay their wages at the end of the month.

 

"Here in the North East we have the highest rates of unemployment in the country, how are my kids meant to get a job when our political class support open-door mass immigration from 27 other EU member states?"

 

...and, Labour councillor Ann Golightly sounds undelighted about the last council meeting, but my money's on an eventual defection from her too...

 

"What was most distressing was that the room was absolutely jammed full of UKIP members and it was very intimidating.

 

This really won't do, so I'm thinking of writing to Nige to demand he instructs Labour Bishop Auckland Council to stop making the odd few remaining Labour hold-outs feel uncomfortable. No point writing to Ed because they've all stopped listening to him!
