About Me

L Pensioner under instruction. That's to say I'm 65 but still working and not drawing my old age pension yet. Being my own boss makes that easier. I have a penchant for languages and, though Geordie will always be my favourite, I have to admit that Icelandic comes a very close second, as I believe that Geordie has it's roots there. When I'm not plumbing the depths of syntax I'm sewing, reading, cooking, travelling or gardening and on rare occasions doing housework - we all have our cross to bear do we not. I have a philosophical nature and can spend countless hours pondering subjects such as 'why can't you get a good cup of tea in Scandinavia'? and 'why are umbrellas always round'? If anybody has the answer please let me know so that I can move on to something else.

I'm passionately fond of cats and prefer a moggy to a pedigree. They really do earn their keep when you live in the middle of the forest and there's nothing to beat waking up in the morning with a warm cat behind your knees when its minus 25 outside! I would like to be remembered as the woman who converted Sweden to using suet in cooking but I think I'm backing a loser there. It's strictly for the birds. My husband would like to be remembered as the man who converted Britain to eating raw fish but I think he's backing a bigger loser.
