We have been looking at moving the bigg'un (formerly the littl'un) to a new school since moving to Bedlington. He is currently in the CofE academy in Ashington but this is very tedious for Rach to sort out in the mornings having to get herself, the littl'un and the bigg'un sorted and over to Ashington.
We have had a look at the Ofsted reports for the schools in the area and came to the conclusion that location and interim reports that Whitley Memorial looks like a canny little school.
i was wondering if anyone off here had first hand experience of the school and what it was like for their children to attend and what the extra curricular activities are like. He currently attends a number of after school classes and is more creative than sporty.
We are going to arrange to pop into the school and meet the head and I have read the brochure available on the schools website and it looks great.
Anyone anything further to add?
Whitley Memorial Cofe First School

Can't give you any first hand experience but I have been connected with Bedlington for over 35 years and it has always had a good reputation.

Well it turns out that it is nigh on impossible to get any child into Whitley so the bigg'un will now be going to West End First School after February half term.
Went up and had a meeting with the head teacher who was lovely and the school seems genuinely nice and friendly.

Turns out you can get parked right outside right next to the crossing on those zig zag white lines no bother in the morning
